After purchasing a Steinway & Sons Service Plan or One-Time Appointment, you will be able to immediately schedule an online appointment with one of our qualified piano technicians!
A link to the scheduling calendar will appear on both your Order Confirmation Page and in your Order Confirmation email. When you click on the SCHEDULE APPOINTMENT button, you will be able to select a date and time, choose a piano technician, and then confirm the appointment. Upon completion of your initial service appointment, we will email a reminder for when your next appointment should be scheduled.
Several service plan options are available to ensure your instrument receives the highest level of care. All pianos are composed of sensitive materials that are impacted by usage and environmental changes. Expert tuning and service is required to keep your piano performing at its best. We recommend that a Steinway-approved piano technician service your instrument three to four times a year.
Every technician we work with has had many years of experience — they are experts that will provide the highest level of service for your instrument. Our full-service appointments include much more than a standard tuning. Every appointment will begin with an initial assessment of the pitch, touch and tone of the instrument. Once on overall assessment is completed, the technician will tune the piano to standard pitch including any pitch adjustment as needed. The technician will then address concerns of touch and tone. If further service would benefit the piano, we will provide recommendations based on our assessment. Our goal is to provide the highest standard of care and maintenance of your instrument. Each service visit will last approximately 2 hours.
Spirio service visits include calibration, which is highly specialized and involves the regulation of electronic components to ensure performance accuracy. Each Spirio service visit will last approximately 2.5 hours.
